New tDCS Treatment and Chronic Pain

There is intense ongoing research into the mechanisms of tDCS effects on chronic pain and other neurological conditions.

In fact, in recent studies, tDCS was found to change the opioid receptor (brain chemical system that is activated by painkiller medications) activity and to increase the pain threshold.
